Scam Alert Sign

We are receiving scam emails few times a week these days - most of them are automatically moved to our Junk/Spam folder, but unfortunately some are making it into our Inbox.

It's important to know how to identify scam emails as this kind of emails are used to trick people and steal their personal information and funds.

Remember:

  • Never click links in messages
  • Do not download attachments or open them
  • Do not reply
  • Do not load images in the message

Here are some examples we recently received:

Metamask Scam

MetaMask is a wallet installed as a browser add-on, and recently it has been used (or rather, it's name has been used) to scam people.

  1. Notice that the sender's email address looks dodgy
  2. When hovering* over the link in the message (NEVER click a link in a message) the website address is completely different from what is actually shown in the message itself

Not all email clients will show you the actual address when hovering the text in the message.

Blockchain Scam

In this example the scammers used the term "Blockchain" as the sender. Blockchain is a general term for the technology behind most cryptocurrencies, so it has no actual meaning in this context.

  1. Notice that the sender's email address looks dodgy
Metamask Scam

Another MetaMask example.

  1. Notice that the sender's email address looks dodgy
  2. When hovering over the button in the message (NEVER click a button in a message) the website address looks dodgy as well

Keep safe!
